Lessons at School or After School

How the Program Works

An elementary school or after school program purchases Bee Bilingual lessons for a class (or classes) of students.

The day and time that the lessons will take place each week is agreed upon by the school and Bee Bilingual. The school provides the computers (or tablets), headsets, and the classroom that students will use during their lessons.

Participating students are pretested and trained on how to use Zoom, the virtual meeting platform on which the program is facilitated.

Based on pretest results and their unique educational needs, students are matched with a trained Bee Bilingual teacher on a 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 student to teacher basis. Generally, this teacher will work with them for the duration of the program.

Students participate in lessons online using live, 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 video between them and their Bee Bilingual teacher.

Bee Bilingual teachers leave feedback to track student progress after each lesson, which can be viewed online by teachers and families. Every five lessons, students take a short quiz to assess content and pronunciation retention and mastery. Lessons are recorded and are also available online for viewing by teachers or families.

Students cycle through the lessons and are posttested to measure knowledge growth after the program is done.

  • 1:1 means one student and one teacher connect on Zoom (the online meeting platform we use) during each lesson; 2:1 means two students and one teacher connect with each other; 3:1 means three students and one teacher connect. Due to the way Zoom functions, each student will still need their own laptop or tablet during all lessons.

  • Times and start dates are flexible. We can arrange a program length that works for the needs of your school and students.

  • Schools or after school programs must commit to at least five lessons with a minimum group of six students.

  • For the 25-minute virtual lesson option, schools provide their own staff member to supervise students during the program. This option is available anywhere.

  • For the 60-minute hybrid program option, Bee Bilingual supplies a staff member to facilitate the program on-the-ground. This option includes a half hour virtual lesson and a half hour of Spanish songs and games that are taught by our in-person instructor. This may not be available in all parts of the USA. Please ask for additional details.
